    Pros1. You get good food at various times of the day.
    2. Your GLs are not technically involved, so you can fool them anytime.

    Cons1. Your GL is just a manager who keeps on bugging you on the progress of the project. He doesnt help you technically at all.
    2. The company is just for the persons who can butter and have stayed in the company for a long period.
    3. No team hierarchy, persons with 1 year experience can be seen doing work of 5-6 years experienced person.
    4. No transparency.
    5. No onsite opportunities atleast in service sector. They always say there is no budget and company is trying to move all the work offshore.

    Advice to Senior Management1. Try look beyond people who have stayed long in the company. Promote people who are deserving.

    Not a good place for women to work, very judgmental management

    Pros1>Site trip
    2> good exposure
    3> Its a pleasure working with israel team , you learn a lot

    Cons1> You feel vulnerable to judgement as a woman, management doesn't take you seriously
    2> Bad culture, 90% management is men and they work on loyalty gathering, you need to be in favor of managers to rise.
    3>A lot of people try to steal credit from each other, you need to be very hard to survive here
    4> During downsizing first people to be fired are women. At least in some teams.
    5> Not Much scope for technically inclined people, this is a place for beurocrats and only people who rise are the non technical ones.

    Advice to Senior ManagementTake a notice of deprecating culture in DVCI.

    Legacy tools, get out to see how startups do it.

    Pros- Travels, one every quarter. (but benefits were cut due to misuse)
    - Free snacks
    - Very less internal competition
    - Fixed duration for promotion
    - See the world.
    - Resources like free Safari Books account, Free training's etc etc.

    Cons- Very old technology
    - Need Buttering for good hike
    - Very few technical challenges
    - Old thinking
    - India Office have many facilities cut down.

    Advice to Senior ManagementHire some intelligent guys from startup and let them show how new tools can make life easier.
    Look at keeping really deterministic guys on board.
    Arrange meetups and hackthons for the community.
    Be part of opensource community.
    Give some long term travels instead of several short term. Not everybody deserves a travel.

    Technical Lead (Current Employee) Pune

    ProsCulture: Amdocs has taken work culture from US and Israel, so it has many events big or small, throughout the year.
    Increment: it is still better than more than average companies in market.
    Freedom of work: if you are older in company then it is like home to you. you can govern your work timings yourselves except at critical junctures of project.
    You can choose your career path with manager supports.
    Learning: you will get minimal supportive training if you are lucky otherwise you need to learn yourself
    Travel: short term travel is good but don't get trap into this.
    Breakfast and Evening Snacks: some people enjoy this as it is coming free and people starts gaining weight :)
    Career: if you are good enough and technically strong then you have very good chance to involve in project decision making.

    ConsWork flexibility: it is not easier to switch between projects unless manager is supportive or you find it yourself.
    Perks: In past, it used to pay higher than other companies but now it is same like others.
    Management: people become manager by their number of years in industry but that does not make them good managers. Current generation of managers who were developer in the same company, forget what were the issues they faced in their time and now behaving like their managers of their own time which they didn't liked.
    Benefits: it started decreasing benefits like transportation cuts, extra bonuses. Once transportation was free in Amdocs but now it is chargeable and within particular time slot.
    Work from home: work from home is discouraged if you are below management level.
    HR Team: these people are only for formalities. they don't have say in employee grievance redressal. They come into picture three times: one on joining, second on events, third when employee is leaving.

    Advice to Senior ManagementManagement: Choose manager correctly otherwise team will start decreasing. someone has said 'people don't leave company but they leave their manager'.
    Human resource: treat employees like people not just as resource. employees make company better not resources.
    HR team: make them grievance redressal mechanism not just for filling formalities.

    No Processes, pathetic work life balance

    ProsSince this is a product based company, the learning curve is good and also the in hand salary is better.

    Conswork life balance is worst.. the company has no value for employee and they care only about profit margins.
    People are only "resources" @ AMDOCS. The company holds not even CMMi 3.

    Advice to Senior ManagementUpper management keeps blind eye to work life balance although everybody is aware of the situation.
    The Israeli management does not care so its not a point.
