I have been working at Apple full-time for more than 3 years

Pros – Best company I ever worked for.
Very innovative, industry leaders.. both for the product as well as services around the product.

Cons – The company just blew up in a the last couple years, a lot of people left.
Politics have taken over the company, we need to go back to making great products.
Opportunity to grow upwards is limited since its a very flat organization.
Bad Work/ Personal Life balance.

Advice to Senior Management – We need to focus on the product and not
Give employees who perform well a chance to grow.

Pros – The company really takes pride in their employees and values the education with knowing their job.

Cons – Working in retail the hours are different each week

Pros – Working in the retail stores is fast paced. You'll barely get a chance to breath and you'll learn a lot about yourself. Some of the career experiences are fantastic and you'll get exposure to lots of information and learn a lot about different areas of retail, training, B2B etc.

Cons – The expectations. There are no bonuses, be it pay or real recognition, but the work you're expected to do is of the highest calibre. The hours are unforgiving and the stress of certain days are not for the light hearted.
Progression is difficult depending on what route you're looking at. Forget corporate.

Cons – Some choose to micromanage when it's not needed. Company political and social opinions are not appropriate in the workplace.

Advice to Senior Management – Don't micromanage Senior resources. Stop with the social engineering at work.

Cons – Apple will turn into your life. You will join the cult and converge to all of their products. You will want to buy everything and spend money from all of the discounts you get!

Pros – Staff was always friendly, and I enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere. It was always busy and I had a lot of practice with the customers.

Cons – The staff is a bit cut throat, fighting for sales. They also barrage the customer.

Pros – People are very fwd thinking. Great food and Perks. Able to work on some very exciting projects and learn from the best. HQ has a big college campus feel to it.

Cons – Long hours. Very cut throat. Deadlines, Deadlines, Deadlines. No room for compassion. Everyone is jockeying for a title and everyone is out for themselves at all costs.

Advice to Senior Management – Ease off on employees a bit. They are burning out at a very fast pace.

Pros – Commuter buses with WiFi to offset dealing with Bay Area traffic
All the free coffe and filtered water you can stand

Cons – Departments completely run by under qualified, mid game playing foreigners
Excessive attention paid to unfounded fixes to technical problems instead of doing sound analysis and designs to assure solid solution implementation
Managers with huge egos and short attention spans

Advice to Senior Management – For your company and products to be labled American, there are parts of your organization where being a qualified, experienced american citizen is considered a threat to the army of Indian born nationals that outnumber you 99 to 1. They are a cohesive unit that work to keep americans out of the deciscion making process and task you with busy work to keep you from digging into the mountain of undocumented and erroneous code that they rush through to production.

Please take a close look at the management structure and try to balance your american to non-american ratio and I'm sure you find that not only will you have a higher employee satisfaction rate but you will have peole who can comunicate and lead without the cliques and cloaks that were so detrimental to my work efforts when I was there.
