I worked at ArcelorMittal USA as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

People wanted to succeed as a whole, it was pretty nice working with both manufacturing personnel and staff. As the largest steel manufacturer, it felt like the company had a good grip on the market.

    Cons

It was understaffed and underfunded at my particular location. There wasn't enough resources to get work done well--everything was done just to get by. It felt like putting out fires instead of succeeding.

    Pros

Very good internship program. Given a chance to do meaningful work and present to people that matter at the end of the summer.

    Cons

Not the most exciting industry. Only $15 an hour for interns.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Smart people, but aging. Seems like a rapid move up the food chain is unlikely, even if you're smarter than the rest.
