    Pros

Very good internship program. Given a chance to do meaningful work and present to people that matter at the end of the summer.

    Cons

Not the most exciting industry. Only $15 an hour for interns.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Smart people, but aging. Seems like a rapid move up the food chain is unlikely, even if you're smarter than the rest.

I worked at ArcelorMittal USA full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Plenty to do and learn

    Cons

Salaried employees are only appreciated when they respond to a disaster otherwise they are compensated far less than an hourly union employee. There is no incentive to remain long term salaried employee. Your best bet is to pick up a three or four years experience and move on to better pay and benefits. That is exactly what the personnel people tell new salaried employees. " this is a flat organization that strive to pay Median pay rate for companies it's size, by want exceptional performers"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat salaried employees much better. Create more layers of management to provide opportunities for advancement if you want to keep any young people for more than 3 - 5 years.
