    I worked at AutoNation full-time

    Pros

I worked there for a little under a year because of leaving to attend my master's program. Selling cars is hard work, but they offer a competitive commission plan and treat their employees with respect.

    Cons

You won't really have a "normal" schedule. Don't expect to ever have a Saturday off.

Fun environment in which to work.

    Cons

Poor pay, no options for raises.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

They offer a pretty good healthcare plan and offer a longevity bonus. Training is basic and it is basically a waste of time. It is info that is common sense

    Cons

Horrible Pay for all of what is expected from you. No support staff to allow you to perform your duties as required

    Pros

AutoNation has many many locations so there is always room to advance or even just transfer to a different location. They have great benefits, time off policies, and on job training. Most of the employees and managers are very friendly, open minded, and easy to work with.

    Cons

Most of the positions are supporting retail so the hours can be long.

    Pros

There are a lot of good benefits with employment and in some situations you can make good money. Decent vacation pay

    Cons

It is way too many hours and we are always overstaffed. Heavily advertised vehicles online cut out the profits. A little too process oriented

    Advice to Management

Work the salesmen less hours. Too many hours for the pay cuts taken in recent years causes bad employee morale which is huge in the car business

    Pros

They say hello to you and pay you real money.

    Cons

Everything else, basically if you are not in management or corporate you're nothing.

    Advice to Management

Stop making the company so laughably ridiculous.

    Can't think of any pros

    Cons

Low pay, co-workers who are unsuited to the job and shouldn't be working with the public.

    Advice to Management

Be much more attentive to the qualification and abilities of the people they hire, some of whom shouldn't be working with the public at all.
