I have been working at AutoZone part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The autozone environment is generally not stressful and the number of hours are reasonable for part time. employee discount is 20 percent which is quite fair.

    Cons

Corporate likes to hire from the outside as opposed to promoting hard working employees. Management turnover is quite high making it hard to become familiar and develop relations with higher ups.

I worked at AutoZone full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Strong company values. Customer oriented. Cares about people. Good benefits. On the job training. Gained lots of management experience and professional skills. Was able to work with many great people and customers.

    Cons

Unreasonable expectations to sell more and more. Upper management never satisfied. Very few weekends off. Was basically promised promotion after promotion until I got tired of empty promises and left.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Allow more flexibility in scheduling.

I have been working at AutoZone full-time for more than a year

    Pros

For a small town, the pay and benefits are ok and it is full time which is important.

    Cons

The pay is not enough for the important work done here. Training is next to non existent as tests that you are required to do, are done for you. Promotion can happen in the blink of a eye. Work hard, someone higher quits, they look at you for promotion. Benefits, no really impressed. My copay can be ridiculous as the more expensive medical plans require alot of your paycheck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Training is needed badly for many especially hands on. Wages need to reflect to importance and the liability involved as we are dealing with people and their vehicles.
