I worked at Avery Dennison full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good Pay and benefits. Most management is competent.easy to move around in to diversify your talents. great diversity in work force

    Cons

They use and abuse their employees. After 29 years and 8 months they decided that they no longer need my services. i rarely called in sick was never late. They seem to target older employees for termination in order to bring in younger lower paid people. There is no loyalty to the employees anymore. Stan Avery would roll over in his grave if he knew that. He was all about keeping you until you retired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect your older experienced employees keep them employed until retirement. Stop throwing them to the wolves at a time when it is hardest for them to recover.

I have been working at Avery Dennison full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Salary is on the high side of the market

    Cons

Extremely dynamic working environment where restructure is a 'common practice' every year. The organisation structure is very fragmented where everyone just focus on a very narrow area such that things can be owned by multiple parties or by no party at all!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Build a sustainable business model and no more 'trial and error' approach.

I have been working at Avery Dennison

    Pros

They are a true Global Company and at the core are organically diversivied given their true, true Global existence.
You will see varying styles of Leadership and taken in with the "right' mindset, you'll see different styles of Leadership working well together.

    Cons

A gap in what is being communicated and what is really happening.
The same varying styles of Leadership, may not allow for growth to some that might be better suited in a different setting.
A disconnect with what their organice strengths are and what they think they need to develop, as a Company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't lose sight of who is providing you the data for the things you do. Your employees are bothe stake holders and the worker bee's who know as well as see, what is really happening. No need to "doll up" or package your communication to your worker bee's, they gave you the data.

    I worked at Avery Dennison

    Pros

Good pay, good PTO/Holidays, ability to work remotely when necessary. Some nice people.

    Cons

They are WAY behind in their technology which is eroding both their margin and market share (10+ years). Leadership is unwilling to make the necessary investment which will continue this downward trend. Not a viable strategy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You will continue to lose market share and profit until you update your back-end systems. Despite your desire to do so, you cannot continue to operate as you always have.

    Pros
