    Pros

Company is very flexible given at least a week notice for just about any reason. Their good about transferring your position to another location if you desire, even if it's out of state.

    Cons

To many turn overs within management.
Management team all seems to be taught differently which is confusing and hard to get on one accord.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management training need to be universal.

I have been working at Bed Bath & Beyond full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It really feels like a family there. You learn a lot of new skill, and you will gain some strength from doing freight. The more you are willing to learn, the more responsibility the managers will give you. It is all about work ethic.

    Cons

Raises come with your year mark, but are usually 30 cents or less. The store can feel a bit like a high school with all the drama. The managers often get in on the drama and spread rumors about the associates, at my location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within more often. RM and DM, talk to your associates about how the store is being run. When they are expecting visits from upper management, they apply a lot of rules and restrictions they usually don't. Really, just check up on the way the store manager and key holders are running the store.

    Pros

If you are well liked by district and regional staff, you're home free.

    Cons

No matter how hard you work, it's a popularity contest.

I have been working at Bed Bath & Beyond full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great product knowledge classes, flexible work schedules, and they empower the cashiers to accommodate the customer. Overall a good place to work if you are looking to be a hands on employee as you will never be bored.

    Cons

If you are part time your hours fluctuate and can dramatically drop off at certain points of the year but that goes for just about any retailer. It is extremely hard to move up if you are in a smaller store as everything must be approved by a district manager. Less hours in a stores budget usually means department managers have to do the bulk of floor work. The computer/POS systems they run are from the 80s.

    Pros

Great team atmosphere, strong business model, wonderful customer service, overall a motivating place to work.

    Cons

    Turnover
Management promoting favorites and leaving those who deserve it more in the dust

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the people who the masses want to follow at the helm. Pay close attention to employee satisfaction and find the root cause.
