Current Employee – been working at Bemis full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Nice hourly people, benefits are stable
Cons – The worst place for women to work, you are literally treated like you are in the 50's. It is just a matter of time before they get a class action lawsuit in discrimination. Never seen so many managers with huge ego's and bullying as a leadership style
Advice to Senior Management – Get with the times, know that women are a contributing species. Really try to find managers that are transforming, not tearing down. Really get with the times

Former Employee – worked at Bemis full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Benefits are pretty good. Parking is good. Lots of places to go if you need to get away for lunch (if you are allowed).
Cons – No advancement for someone who isn't related to someone already in an advanced position or if you don't have a mechanical engineering degree. HR is a joke. If you have any issues they will not be handled appropriately or quietly. Management is slow to praise but very quick to pass the buck as well as the blame. Many managers can't manage and instead of being let go or demoted they are promoted or moved to manage a different angle.
Advice to Senior Management – Step out of your comfort zone and let go those you know can't manage. Embrace those who are true leaders and have great knowledge. Respect those below you and respond to their innovation, as you claim the company is based on innovation. Remember your hourly employees sacrifice a lot with the swing shifts they work.

Former Employee – worked at Bemis full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – There was no need to worry about advancement. All high level positons were filled by those from the outside.
Cons – Unless you are in the Fox River Valley, you have little chance to advance. At the plant level, outsiders were constantly brought in to take higher level positions.

Former Employee – worked at Bemis
Pros – I felt there was great interaction between departments to maintain a cutting edge within the industry. The manufacturing facility in Indiana managed to recover during economic challenges that required substantial downsizing.
Cons – It was very difficult finding opportunities for advancement. Most exempt employees worked very long hours on a regular basis, particularly during the economic hard times.
