    Pros

They give plenty of training online and hands on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try not to show favoritism towards certain employees. It can be very frustrating.

Current Employee - Customer Specialist in Boston, MA (US)

    Pros

The best part of being employed by Best Buy is your co-workers and the employee discount. Another perk would be the amount of knowledge you gain about all the most recent technologies. Also, the company is pretty good about working with you if happen to be in school full time.

    Cons

There doesn't seem to be a lot of room to advance and work/home balance is nothing great especially if you want to be with family around the holidays but that is to be expected with retail.

    Pros

    - Awesome benefits for employees including 401K, discount, Tuition Reimbursement, and short-term incentives.
    - Dedicated leadership willing to work with you to help you meet your goals.

    Cons

    - Can become a "boys club" environment and be difficult to move up if you aren't friends with the right people.
    - Company is constantly trying to improve systems, often causing more issues than ease for employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Work-Life Balance with less pressure on employees to never take vacation

    Pros

Great employee discount, all workers in Best Buy stores have similar interests and personalities, so no one is uncomfortable.

    Cons

Black Friday is tough, but in the long run, it's not something worth quitting over. Sometimes you might be pressed to meet certain goals, but this is not often and generally isn't done in a way that stresses you out.

Former Employee - Magnolia Home Theater Sales Associate in Hawthorne, CA (US)

    Pros

Great work schedule, 401k, dental and medical insurance available.
Meeting new people every day, getting to help people in need of a product.
    Good communication skills.

    Cons

Some challenges are getting promoted to a new position. Training is only given to you 2 hours a month, unless you have down time on your day of work. Lot of work for very little pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have learned a lot from this company, I have gained more knowledge working here, than i would probably gain at any other retail store. Promotions were suppose to be earned, but it only seemed that people were getting the positions out of favoritism. Training was not enough, we had to find time on our own to learn the electronic learnings offered to us by best buy.
