    Pros

If you work hard, you can earn a lot of extra cash! They also offer benefits after you have been there a while, which is a sweet deal for any server.

    Cons

VERY fast paced environment, don't expect breaks, and with SOOO many co-workers, it is impossible for everyone to get along. Clicks are formed.

I have been working at Cheesecake Factory part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The income potential is much higher than most chain restaurants. The company culture really tries to make each location a family. For those who are willing to put in the work, there is nearly unlimited promotion potential.

    Cons

Depending on the location you may face clientele who are difficult to deal with but that holds true with any restaurant. Getting days off during holidays is not always possible

Former Employee - Busser in Cheektowaga, NY (US)

I worked at Cheesecake Factory part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great money to be made. (Worked as a busser)

Flexible hours, and with a very big staff its very easy to pick up shifts or find a cover.

Opportunity to move up the ladder, many have started as bussers and have gone through into serving, bartending or management.

    Cons

On bad days. No money to be made. On my worst day, I left with $4 in my pocket.

Constant change of managers. Some are awesome but many are garbage.

You time or hard work isn't always appreciated.

Many servers undertip bussers although some are extremely nice and generous. Managers dont get very involved with tipping out so alot of drama in this area.

Managers lack empathy, all they want is the turn of the table and sales. You get paid $5/hr. They dont care.

Many times you will think if its even worth it. Money is decent but environment can be tough at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Value your employees.

    Pros

provides benefits for employees, great traveling opportunities if you want to transfer

    Cons

    Pros

Work with great people, fun characters, and generally a fun place to work with a lot of attractive people

    Cons

You will get screwed over by the guest, by the manager's, and unfortunately, by your coworkers, but it is part of the job as a server.

I have been working at Cheesecake Factory full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Some of the pro about working in the cheesecake factory is the heath benefits they offer, full time/part time. Also 50 percent of food but only when working, 25 percent when not working, but only weekdays. No discount on steaks.

    Cons

    (Bakery only)
Little pay for a lot of work.
Really can't take break due to the facts that its always busy.
Long hours for little pay, sometimes from 5pm- 3am.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate the workers because this company needs them. Keep them happy.

I have been working at Cheesecake Factory full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The training is thorough, the food culture is higher than average quality. It's a great way to start a job as a career server, and they were always very flexible with scheduling.

    Cons

Working in a tourist-heavy location, my tips were very inconsistent. That's a risk of working for tips in a restaurant, but the amount of work we do is not reflected adequately in the money we take home.

By paying us credit card tips at the end of the night, servers owe a LOT extra in taxes at the end of the year because $2.63/hr wasn't enough to cover the taxes.

The company does the absolute bare minimum required by the state to "take care" of its employees. We were basically forced to waive our break periods, bussers and foodrunners/backwaiters made the same hourly wage as servers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about your staff. Don't pretend to care, actually care more about the people who work for you than making a few extra dollars.
