    Pros

Fair compensation for higher ed, plenty of professional development opportunities, friendly work environment, great benefits!

    Cons

--Poor technology. Their IT team is solid but they need to have the funding to update and improve systems.
--Disorganized reporting system. Need clearer departments and reporting structures.

    Advice to Management

Prioritize better service to the students (improved technology, improved customer service--students want in person service). Improve relations between staff and faculty.

    Pros

Coworkers and faculty are nice, but bitter at this point.

    Cons

This school is a cash cow for TCS Education, and is treated as such. Money is put into this school only if the right person at the right administrative level complains at the right time, otherwise the school is left to fall apart. Just take a look at the facilities. Most bathrooms are broken or have faulty faucets or no soap and the AV in the classrooms is from the 80s and falling off the walls (literally). Take a walk over to TCS Education and you'll discover where the coffee, tea and hygienic food supplies are kept. Take a look at the Glassdoor salary reviews of the two organizations and you'll discover that salaries for the SAME JOB at the Chicago School are at least $5K lower than at TCS Education. All the money that students at the Chicago School are paying for their education goes to funding ‘acquisitions’ of new schools under the TCS Education umbrella. Most positive online reviews of any of the TCS affiliated schools are artificial, and written by their social media strategist and other staff members. I know most of the reviews on this page are very negative, but I can confirm that they’re also honest. Management won’t value you as an employee, they promote to fill positions rather than to advance the organization and they will wring every cent out of faculty, junior level employees and students. If you’re looking to work at a genuine not-for-profit, keep looking.

    Advice to Management

Congratulations on slowly destroying a worthy mission.

I have been working at Chicago School of Professional Psychology

    Pros

Competent faculty and nice people overall.

    Cons

Poor infrastructure and leadership results in a languishing institution. A broken record of poor planning led by leadership lacking basic business and interpersonal skills and ability to rally staff.

    Advice to Management

Management and business training is sorely needed, especially at the executive level. Look at value that employees bring to the table, regardless if they have a graduate degree or not.

    Pros

TCSPP is a regionally accredited institution - for now.

    Cons

I did not detect a serious interest in the well-being or development of students. Instead, there was a serious interest in "retaining" students. Administrators run TCS like a corporation. Faculty members have little or no influence on how teaching actually happens. Faculty are broken into numerous categories to divide the faculty. Faculty are not invited to join a faculty senate or any similar body. Department faculty meetings focus on "numbers", rather than on real issues. Many faculty members, and the president, are former graduates. About 50% of the people who work at TCS are graduates of TCS. That means that a lot of them are used to the non-academic atmosphere and are completely unmotivated to move the institution in a positive direction. They think that things are fine.

    Advice to Management

Run TCS like a college and not like the University of Phoenix megacorporation.

    Pros

Flexible work schedule and working w/ the students.

    Cons

You do not matter if you have "Staff" connected to your name. Years of service mean nothing to this institution--you will be tossed aside like yesterday's garbage.

    Advice to Management

    Change the current administrative infrastructure!

  9. Excellent school with progressive ideas and programs

I have been working at Chicago School of Professional Psychology

    Pros

Comprehensive psychology programs with proven outcomes.

    Cons

A lot of teaching os required with less emphasis on research. But, this is the model woth practitioner-scholars.

    Advice to Management

Look to what has worked in the past as changes are not always needed. Progression is good, but respect must be paid to the history of organizations.

    Pros

A very professional company to work for.

    Cons

Adjunct pay is problematic, but this is probably a wider issue than just this institution.

    Pros

Great office, unique atmosphere, young and energetic, always growing. Gained some valuable experience. Fun location downtown at 7th and Grand. I would absolutely recommend for someone looking to get into higher education administration.

    Cons

Parking downtown can be tough without a parking lot, or some sort of compensation. Not as much room for growth as I would have liked, but they do hire from within for certain positions.

    Advice to Management

Keep developing talent in house. Don't stop growing!
