I worked at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The company culture was fantastic. We had lunch catered frequently, lots of bonding activities and easy accessibility to senior management. I really felt like my opinions mattered and, in fact, several of my ideas were put into action.

    Cons

The only downside I can think of is that CMH requires an excess amount of training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing! Working at CMH was an amazing experience.

    Cons

You are working with children and families. It can be a challenge to see the lack of interaction within the family.

My co-workers and the experience I learned here

    Cons

Certain Management. They don't always listen to the employee. They just assume and go off what they here

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Things aren't always what they seem, You need to listen to your employees more before you assume things and resort to writing them up for things that aren't their fault!!

I have been working at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Our CEO has the second longest tenure in his leaderhip position. He has overseen phenomenal growth and expansion in our market share, as well as financial stability during the turbulent healthcare economy. A very cutting edge, forward-thinking organization.

    Cons

A very siloed organization. This has led to multiple efforts not being coordinated across the organization. Also, a perceived lack of upward mobility for physician leaders. Very quickly, you can reach a glass ceiling that will require you leaving the organization to advance your leadership career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Break down silos.

    Neutral Outlook
