I have been working at Citi full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Massive scale on which your work could be used. Challenging problems to work on.

    Cons

Compensation is average if not worse. Office politics is a huge problem. Transparency needed in movement and promotions as the office is rife with rumors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You guys are on the right path, selling off non-performing businesses. Incredibly bureaucratic organization that needs to become more flexible in terms of technology.

I have been working at Citi full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Cutting edge work, most of the teams have great work with them .
CITI touches almost all technical niche skill available, something even a lot of mainstream IT companies don't and can't.
Mobility options to change job roles/locations.
Great exposure to various real life business and activities. One can see and feel how his/her work is making money ( OR losing money ! ) for CITI.

    Cons

Work life balance is not a common thing here. Though they are ON it to improve it.
Culture is informal so you need to be vocal and aggressive to be recognized and awarded, not a heaven for humble folks unless they are satisfied with whatever comes to them.
Mobility is easier below VP level, above that it matters if you have some Godfather .
A lot of not-best-kind-of-talent in non technical (aka HR/IT/Infrastructure ) streams
    Bureaucracy which is affecting efficiency.
Not too many leaders who can inspire you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are great policies but not great implementations ( e.g. Work life balance / mobility / promotions ).
At top level super talented, dynamic and enthusiastic folks are needed .
Continue on reduction of bureaucracy , bring in more accountability and transparency in managerial actions and responsibilities.
