    Pros

Pay is above comparable companies for same title, 22 days PTO, location (in Boston), work/life balance, colleagues are so helpful and friendly.

    Cons

The 401Kis the worst of any company I have worked for (4% after one year employment, 2%end of year, 3 year vesting period). Their onboarding is horrible, no process at all...it was very frustrating, but the people and the job itself made it manageable, the employee "discounts" are terrible, you can get better discounts searching online.

    Advice to Management

I know you changed the 401K policy, but it really is below average from the industry, especially for the size of the company. Also, better employee discounts, and create an onboarding experience including a couple of swag giveaways that show you are truly welcoming a new employee.

    Pros

    Great people to work with

    Cons

Scheduling is awful, senority means everything and getting out of cs is impossible

    Advice to Management

Be upfront with employees, stay out of the gossip and favoritism is not how you conduct business

    Pros

Customers love the Bank. As a recently independent company, a great deal of excitement and energy about the future permeates the Bank. This is a Bank with a growth culture when many banks are shrinking.Strong financial capital ensuring stability.

    Cons

Historical inadequate investment in infrastructure has resulted in very manual and inadequate processes and systems. Data structures are quite weak. Certain Staff processes/capabilities that are standard for this size company are absent.

    Advice to Management

Need major "sustained" investment over 3 to 5 years into technology and process design. Limiting talent locations to RI/Boston is hurting the pool. Learn to use remote workers with specific needed talents more often.

  8. Regimented environment, but was unsettled due to restructuring.--perhaps better for those with strong project management

    Pros

    -Hardworking colleagues
    -Largely supportive group throughout company
    -Community service-oriented
-Modern open-space work environment to promote interaction and idea exchange with colleagues
-Department tried to promote transparency, especially as the reorganization was intensifying

    Cons

-Not exactly a con (and this is only an individual viewpoint), but due to regulated nature of business, seems to require certain temperament to enjoy the work.
-Co. somewhat unsettled; was in process of restructuring while I was there; however, I understood from others that there would be periodic reorganizations/layoffs before I arrived (not sure whether due to the economy and/or nature of this bank.)
-Modern open-space work environment could also be a detraction, if one is not used to the surrounding noise

    Advice to Management

-I have no comments to management, since my supervisor was outstanding, enthusiastic, attentive, and fair! Very supportive of his team, wanting to help them not just in their jobs but for their careers.

    Pros

    Decent pay and great benefits.

    Cons

Not enough time to take care of customers as the company claims they want you to.

    Advice to Management

Higher more quality people and lower goals so there is less strain to open accounts all the time allowing more time for true customer service.

    Pros

Some of the people are very dedicated and really care about employees and customers.

    Cons

Top of the house managers have forgotten what makes a company good and just want to see profit at any cost. Working with skeleton crews but tripled goals. Very unrealistic expectations. Have seen high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at what made you great in the past. You cannot expect to cut more then half of the staff in branches and still see an increase in customer service scores and triple sales production. The front line employees are the face of the company and they get treated the worst. Loyalty is punished with no raises, company states they cannot afford it, yet new hires come in at double salary for the same positions and with no proven track record. The new branch model is poor.

    Pros

flexible work times. Working from home was not a big deal.

    Cons

Severe culture change when RBS mentality spilled over to Citizens Banck. It was originally a great place to work but because a bureaucracy.

    Advice to Management

Remove red tape obstacles to allow success and reduce frustration levels.
