    Pros

Pay and benefits are competitive. When working in the branches you become like family. It is a very team oriented environment.

    Cons

Dealing with the public can be challenging, especially when you are handling their money. The company used to be more appreciative to its employees but as the years have gone on it gets harder and harder to feel this way. As they cut back on staffing and restructure the way things are done it becomes difficult to have a work/life balance.

    Pros

The benefits are excellent. You get a lot of paid time off. The health insurance is reasonably priced. Also, you get paid weekly instead of bi-weekly.

    Cons

The customers are very challenging. You must have thick skin because the customers sometimes scream at you, speak to you in a belittling manner, and/or hang up on you. You are expected, of course, to always remain friendly and professional. They are very strict about the friendly thing.

I have been working at Citizens Financial Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very good benefits from the amount of PTO you get down to the medical and dental. I would say one of the best I have had.

    Cons

No work life balance. The call nights are just a waste of time. It's all about hitting the numbers and then when you do, it's still not good enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The stress is getting unbearable. Not enough tellers or bankers. I also feel that the Liscened Banker program was not the best thing to have happen at Citizens Bank. It's still a new program but not too sure if it is working.

There are some nice, hard working people to work with and challenging projects.

    Cons

Slow to change, too many cooks in the soup at times. Very hierarchical environment which impacts communication channels.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

So much potential to be a great company, but there are colleagues in senior management that don't support the culture

    Pros

Better than average benefits, great training, possible to be promoted within

    Cons

There is no work life balance, regional/marketplace management is not supportive of company culture, sales goals are unrealistic

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You really need to look at they way colleagues are able to "anonymously" provide feedback. Executive leadership will always encourage colleagues to voice opinions and provide suggestions for improvement or ask questions. However, the Regional Managers discourage such participation without "running it by them" first. This prevents the real issues from ever rising to the top of the house because most often these are members of senior management trying to make themselves look as good as possible through numbers. There are a lot of corrupt practices taking place to ensure sales "results".

I worked at Citizens Financial Group full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The training resources are at your finger tips. Associates are willing to help from other banking centers. Hours are long but certain branches and managers are wiling to accommodate. Salary and benefits are pretty decent.

    Cons

There is no room to advance in your career path unless you plan on staying in a the same position for 7 years. From experience, some managers managed branches very poorly as far as customer service and treatment of staff. There is a high turnover in staff..... .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice to management is to promote growth in the company and retain the associates that truly have meaning for the services that are provided. On that note, Branch managers should be monitored closely on Branch performances etc. From my experience, associates fear speaking up of Branch managers wrong doings.

    Pros

compensation was good, and the amount possible for bonuses was also very high. I didn't receive benefits from here but from what I heard there were good benefits.

    Cons

management did not know what they were doing, branch manager and assistant manager never got along. Branch manager did not allow for growth, consistently tried to hold employees back. also did not like the hours, very hard to balance school with this job.
