I worked at Colgate-Palmolive as an intern for less than a year
Pros – The co-op at Colgate provides training in programs like Crystal Reports, SAP & BW. Interns are given real projects that have a genuine impact on the company and are not made to waste their time on "coffee & donuts" type tasks. The office in Atlanta is a very friendly, helpful, and team-oriented environment. You will feel at home here.
Cons – Even with six months spent in the co-op there are still some projects that are large enough you cannot see them through to completion. The only other con is that the program starts off quickly... it can be like trying to drink from a fire hose at times, but everyone is patient and helpful so this isn't so bad.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at Colgate-Palmolive full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great benefits to include success sharing, 401k matching, health care, and bonus plan.
Cons – Leadership is aloof, poor communication, no work/life balance, preference given to external vs. internal candidates for open positions. People managers do not promote their team members and spend as little time as possible developing their team.
Advice to Senior Management – Review employee feedback of Team Directors/Leaders, CMM's, and Senior CDM's.

I worked at Colgate-Palmolive
Pros – If you are single without any ties... this may be the best place for you.. Education is not as important you think.
Cons – Too may people in middle management without degrees who hinder the growth of people with degrees and real experience. This is not the place to be if you are a minority, and a women. In the last year... this company has allowed middle mangement to mis-treat a number of women and minorities.... In our last in house lay-off.. More minorities and women were let go.. This is not the same Colgate from 20 years ago.. If you have family,,, this might not be the best place for you to work.. Again.... with the type of management they have.... the good old boy network is alive and establish..... Very hard to now move up no matter how good you are... The moto in the company is now....if you screw up you will move up.
Advice to Senior Management – Clean Middle mangement.

Pros – Great work environment. Friendly staff. Very relaxed office atmosphere and manageable work load.
Cons – Not alot of opportunity for advancement and promotion. Employees seem to be complacent with their positions and are not in a hurry to move out of the job they have.
Advice to Senior Management – Retire some of the older staff and allow more hiring of entry level employees.
