    Pros

    Opportunity for personal and professional growth if you work for the right team or program. Compensation is fair, benefits are fair.

    Cons

    Government contracting is a cyclical industry and is currently struggling with wars winding down, government shutdowns etc. Work-life balance depends on your department or program. Layoffs have been quarterly and raises have not been given the last 3 years. Way too many VP's that you never see and wonder what they do all day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop chasing every bright, shiny object. This company needs long-term vision. The next time you win a wind-fall of a contract, consider using some of the profit to invest in your systems, processes and people instead of slapping each other on the back and lining every executive's pockets with bonuses. Create a scalable work-force so you don't have to do lay-offs every 3 months which keep workers in perpetual fear of losing their jobs.

    The people are amazing and the opportunity to support the warfighter is fulfilling.

    Cons

    The company is always restructuring, which is difficult when you are trying to building relationships. They are always laying off the people who do the work, as opposed to the middle management who are getting paid to sit at their desk all day.

    Consider bringing back growth opportunities.

    Pros

    NASA Contractor close to home. Unique contract and requirements. Interesting co-workers many with many years at the same job so it coud be somewhat like a family.

    Cons

    Stressfull work envronment with no room for advancement. When the contract awarded was awarded to a new company benefits were not as good sick leave was taken away for non-union employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Corporate offices need to have more flexability woth the individual contracts--not everything fits in to the box.

    Pay is good while it lasts.

    Many layoffs
    Employee morale is very low
    Long hours expected from all employees
    Every project is like starting over, as if the company has never done it before.

    Good company with opportunities for personal growth and promotions. Company has many oversees opportunities and ensures the protection of it's employees.

    Centralized review of employee issues stifles in country management.

    Pros

    Seems to be winning again and fixing the former management team's mess-- the damage was huge. No more Flippen behavior courses and other wasteful projects that added nothing-- all gone and repairs underway.

    Cons

    The CEO needs to communicate substantially more and be project presence.Tell the company where we are and where we are going. He needs to visit offices outside of Virginia. He needs to convince us that he is prepared to lead the company through the transformation back to being strong and tell how how he plans to do it and how we can help. This is a big problem, no communication , no staff meetings-- just a back hole.

    Good pay. The area manager here is good about addressing all concerns and issues with employees and takes care of them in a timely manner

    It brought a lot of confidence and motivation to me personally. I had the opportunity of having a good manager too

    The trainings were adequate but not frequent enough for the whole team to benefit from it.
