I have been working at E*TRADE Financial full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good mentorship from employees and a good support system. fast paced and it requires you to make sure you are willing to adapt to your surroundings.

    Cons

the downside is the micromanagement on the lower service teams. it is more of a political game when it coms to promotion. several individuals come to this company with year soy experience and i feel they are belittled.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay more.

I have been working at E*TRADE Financial

    Pros

Coworkers were good and the pay was decent. Good place to build up some experience. They also paid for FINRA registration materials.

    Cons

Very stressful and high pressure. I did not work in sales yet I was effectively expected to be a salesperson

I worked at E*TRADE Financial full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Depending on the group, coworkers are great and are trying to improve this company. A bunch of smart people there, but not necessarily in the right positions

    Cons

Pay is average at best, difficult to grow because middle management does nothing and everyone doing the work will just leave for a better opportunity. Lots of turnover, get sucked into the same work with hardly much innovation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay organized and have an ear to those grinding day to day. Don't push meetings all the time, make time for your team.

I worked at E*TRADE Financial full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Etrade is a good company if you can climb out of the front line trading and customer service level and get into stock plans, corporate services, etc.. Benefits are excellent. Raises are performance based and generally fairly small percentage increases. the best way to earn more is to take advantage of overtime hours when offered.

    Cons

Employees are micro managed for call handle times. Customer service can often be sacrificed for efficiency. Financial advisors are not really advisors and are not trained to be such. The company just wants to get as many assets under management as they can and charge management fees for not managing the accounts.

I worked at E*TRADE Financial for more than 5 years

    Pros

E*trade is known for innovation. So where along the lines they lost their way. It seems that the company has found its mojo. Lots of energy around innovation and new ideas are taking place. Management is making every effort to create the right environment to encourage and foster new thinking

    Cons

There are many new processes that management should consider streamlining. Few opportunities for promotions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at E*TRADE Financial full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Training provided to earn your Series 7 is excellent. Base pay is decent compared to most call center jobs. Promotions are easy to come by since the company cleaned house a few years ago. There is unlimited overtime opportunity during tax season.

    Cons

Employees that work less than 50 hours a week receive poor performance reviews. You will be required to refer millions in outside assets from existing client base and receive no bonus for your efforts. Your job is to help clients maintain regulatory compliance so you have to maintain a high level of focus for long hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on training after Series 7.
