    I have been working at AT&T

    Pros

    Great leadership and mentorship experience, relaxed atmosphere. Good benefits/perks.
    Has a program for hiring military vets.
    Good exit opportunities, if it ever comes to that.

    Cons

    As the phone company, they are very tight with security. Many strict access protocols, network verification procedures, etc. Not really a con, but something to consider.
    Their HR process is inefficient, like many large companies.
    Also could benefit from more diversity (age, background, etc.). But they are trying to improve this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    AT&T Corporate could probably benefit from hiring more entry level employees for their technical contributions.

    I have been working at AT&T full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    getting to work alongside some great professionals in thier fields
    i have worked with many more people i respect than do not
    lots of innovation - interesting work
    good benefits
    access to upper level management when needing to reach out, take care of issues, colaborate, & more

    Cons

    company moves at the speed of snails . . . slow.
    i.e. - installation on complex services is slow & does not compete well in fast pace environment against smaller more nible telco's
    i.e. taking care of customer issues (billing, fixing services, account movement) is so slow it damages customer relationships

    company does not take care of employees who move internally in the company. i have always heard you have to leave at&t & come back to get a good base pay raise. i have been through it now a couple times & it is a very true statement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    treat current employees as well as those in the talent recruitment pool
    truly be 1 at&t - not silos. many many silos still today
