I have been working at Amazon.com full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn but your growth depends a lot on the team you are hired to.

Cons

Very poor facilities. Should take more care of employees. Also the operations work is high which can be a turn-off for some.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve the facilities and try to bring good work to India office.

Current Employee - Software Development Engineer I in Seattle, WA (US)

I have been working at Amazon.com full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

-The compensation is pretty good overall
    -Offices have ping pong tables
-Fully paid bus pass is pretty nice to have

    Cons

-No time provided to deal with ops issues, though still expected to as they pile up
-Cheap in the name of frugality, dev boxes are hardly sufficient
-Projects hardly given real (and never realistic) schedules, and when you don't complete something which you were never given time to you get reprimanded
-Managers with out people skills can really drain the life out of you

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This growth is not sustainable. You should look to improving quality of life for the employees, because a lot of them aren't sticking around.
