“A great company to work for”
Current Employee – been working at Amazon.com
Pros – 1. Very positive working environment for engineers; coworkers help each other out.
2. Be able to work on cutting edge technologies in Amazon.
3. Amazon got a great leader, Jeff Bazos, who is very smart and has made many right decisions.
4. Amazon dominates the e-retail business.
5. Amazon Web Services (AWS) are doing really well in the cloud computing market.
Cons – 1. Operational tasks take a lot of time, as a result fewer time can be spent on actual development.
2. Oncall overheads in some teams are crazy and oncall can be paged many times.
3. Employee benefit is not that good.
Advice to Senior Management – Consider increasing the salary, which is not that competitive anymore.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
