I have been working at Avaya full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

A lot to learn, supportive immediate management. Work load is high but it helps you learn managing tough situations.

Cons

No clarity on long term vision. Cost cutting and layoffs has dampened the spirit.
Future is extremely uncertain.

    I worked at Avaya full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - OK salary
    - Work from home
    - Good people, good technical resources
    - You can work with very big customers and some Avaya products are solid

    Cons

    - Constant layoffs, bad atmosphere, you can't go to work and not think this day it will be my turn to get fired.
    - No clear idea where the company is going, senior management will not communicate clear AT ALL.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    clearly the ship is sinking right now.. please stop acting like the customers are the top priority because this is not true, all the tools you give to your employees are clearly not enough to make this happen. Communication from the people on the top is horrible. Invest in your employees.

    I have been working at Avaya full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    1) Telecommute- Work from home
    2) Great people- The rank and file employees try to get the job done regardless of how many hurdles management adds.

    Cons

    1) Double speak. They say Customers are the top priority but they don't follow through with it in action.
    2) Leadership on different agendas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Clean house.
