    Pros

You are surrounded by smart people, good managers, within a diverse, tolerant culture

    Cons

The bureaucracy of a big bank never ends. There are constant compliance requirements and cross-selling "suggestions" so as to integrate the ML folks into the bank culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let Merrill Lynch employees have more autonomy. Stop shoving cross-selling down everyone's throats.

I worked at Bank of America as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Fun, exciting, always something new, smart people.

    Cons

I personally would prefer the job to be more markets and finance related (ie. not just software developing), but that's my own preference. No major cons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep people motivated like my boss did, helps tremendously in the quality and quantity of work that you will do.
