    Pros

-Great coworkers, always motivated to do better.
-Work-life balance was second to none.

    Cons

-Never felt like the company really knew where it was headed.
-Unless you were a merchant/buyer, career opportunities seemed few and far between

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Define goals better, communicate them throughout the organization. Let your employees come up with solutions and support them.

Best Buy is great as a first job, only recommended for people who like sales.

I worked at Best Buy part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

-Great job to have if you want to develop sales and people skills.
-Pretty flexible schedule if you're enrolled in school.
-Having Best Buy on your resume really opens the doors for other employers to hire you.
-Great people to work with (it becomes your second family).
    -Good discounts.
-Good benefits if you are full time.
-You will become really tech savvy.
-Great job to have if you are in high school or college.
-Really competitive with sales goals and numbers. (This is only a pro if you like sales and competition, not necessarily a pro for me though.)

    Cons

    -No benefits for part timers.
-The pay is inconsistent / low.
-Hectic hours during holidays. I understand that it is retail, but there would be times when you work 9 days straight and 12 hours a day.
-My store was always short staffed due to high turnover rate.
-Certain changes in the company can cause management to become unorganized and unstructured.
-Little opportunity to move up in the company. There are rarely any supervisor/management positions available. Most of the time there weren't any full time positions open either (maybe it was just my store).
-Horrible security practices. (My store had high shrink(theft) due to changes in asset protection. Shrink will affect the store's productivity and can make employees hours decrease.)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure all employees (including supervisors) are well trained in their positions and know their roles. Be more of a helper than a dictator. Give constructive criticism rather than just flat out negative criticism. Make better decisions in the hiring process.
