I worked at Bob Evans part-time for more than a year

Pros

Depending on what managers you have, work can either be super fun or miserable. Like most restaurants, managers have basically free reign to do whatever they want. If you're lucky, you'll get a manager that is actually willing to work and help you out.

Cons

If you're NOT lucky, the managers can make the place a living hell. Lazy managers are commonplace here and will usually just watch by as you struggle to carry the ridiculous workload placed on you. Unfortunately, even if you do luck out and get a decent manager, corporate obnoxiously cycles them out every few months anyway so once again you'll be at the mercy of the luck of the draw.

Participate in the business; don't just expect the employees to do everything (including your jobs)

I worked at Bob Evans part-time for less than a year

    Pros

You got tips to pay for the gas it took to get there.
I liked that they gave you a set schedule, it was easier to plan ahead.

    Cons

I was given one shift a week that I worked for 4 hours at a $3.50 per hour wage on the slowest night of the week.
There was no proper training to help new employees learn the job.
They expect first time workers to just "know" what they're doing.
I was constantly being "yelled" at and talked down to for doing something wrong.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees with respect, especially if they're new to the job community, and please take your time with training.

I worked at Bob Evans full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Too few to even mention

    Cons

Never had weekends off. They expected way to much for the pay..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask your people in the trenches what can be done to help the company. Not someone who has never even done the business.
