Pros

-Easy to get a job with no experience
-Bosses are usually great mentors who want to help you gain relevant experience
-Very understanding of school schedules, with most jobs working completely around your needs

Cons

-Low pay. Really low pay, but the experience gained is worth more than the money you get.
-Coworkers often won't pull their weight.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep hiring undergraduate students. It's the perfect complement to their studies, and makes them much more attractive to employers.

I have been working at Brigham Young University (BYU) part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great flexibility with school schedule. Lots of social interaction with students with in your program and from others. Learn behind the scenes of how things work.

    Cons

Some days can be real boring. Working more then 20 hours during the fall/winter semester is very difficult to even get or convince anyone to get. Wish could be allowed more hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow students to work more in fall/winter semesters.

I worked at Brigham Young University (BYU) part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The hours were flexible - I could come and go as I pleased, so long as I stayed under 20 hours a week, so it was nice to be able to work if I had time between classes. I had fun bosses and co-workers and the environment was relaxed. The dress code was casual. It was a pretty easy job.

    Cons

Despite asking several times, I only got one raise in the four years I worked there, and it was only $0.75/hr more. It would've been nice to be able to work over 20 hours a week, but I got yelled at if I went even a minute over.
