Big Reorg - Global Layoffs - Same Issues - No Change

I worked at Brink's, Incorporated full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people who want to do the right thing for Brink's. Good vacation and work-life balance for some.

    Cons

Shortly after I was hired, a long-time employee warned me that the current reorg and transition from a regional model to a global model had been attempted three times in ten years and had each time failed. Looking at the reviews on this site of the company from late 2013 / early 2014, it is true that these issues continue - nothing has changed. The same complaints and issues that previous reviewers document on this site continue.

Those hired recently were capable and eager to help set the company on a path to success but are undermined by a consulting company who then installs their own people (at an exorbitant cost) to "rescue" Brink's. This is unfortunate because the new employees (as well as many of the long-time employees) were never given the opportunity to solve the mountain of issues and were frequently undermined by the consulting company, who has a long-term, personal relationship with the CIO and can therefore paint a grim picture of the employees without the employees ever being able to set the record straight or defend themselves with the truth.

When a resource leaves the company, there is no knowledge transfer.

    Hostile work environment.

Medical insurance was expensive to start with, increased up in 2015. 401k match only 1%.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no point in giving advice to management. Suggestions have been ignored by management, and if you offer an outside-the-box or best practices solution, you will be shut down and moved to a non-threatening position.
