I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The opportunity to move around within the company in different roles is something that you don't find at many companies, however that comes with a con (see cons below). The pay and benefits are pretty competitive as I'm finding out and the flexibility to manage work/life is key but you pay for that in other ways (see cons below).

    Cons

Constant org changes usually lead to opportunities but they also lead to confusion and politics. Your boss and organization can change 4-5 times over as many years but your role stays the same. The global nature of how Cisco is structured makes it an interesting place to work but depending on your role you can be working 24x6 as you have to satisfy Europe, Asia and US timezones which necessitates you to work through the evening every night just to catch up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make mandatory measurement of an org change required to ensure that it accomplishes a tangible benefit not satisfies a political thirst. The impact of constant organizational changes and cost cutting is eroding your culture but it's happening slowly so it's attributed to 'changing business environment'.
