I have been working at Citi full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Citi a reputable company with lots of oppotunity to move around. There are lots of groups within the firm for someone to get exposure.

Cons

Citi's salary is not competitive. pay and bonuses have been flat for some time. if you are not in banking and fall within IT or Administration, the salary increases are not good and it may remain like that for sometime until the market picks up.

    Pros

Good cultural view. Excellent people and environment.

    Cons

Natural job growth is stunted by managerial opinions and self-serving attitudes. Smaller NY footprint leads to less internal movement despite high performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better natural job growth is needed. Looking outside to fill internal roles will lead to an employment exodus.

  2.

Enormous amount of organizational overhead, micromanagement, and corporate dysfunction.

    Pros

They support remote access (i.e. work from home), benefits are good.

    Cons

Too many chiefs and no indians. Managers use employees as shields, so they have people to blame when things go awry. Huge focus on employee development that is totally disingenuous, since the goal every year is to find defenseless people to fire. Too many senior people in ministerial roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold your Directors and MDs accountable for something other than allowing them to blame subordinates.
