I worked at DISH full-time for more than a year

Pros

Good people to work with, marketable technology

Cons

Punch in, punch out, no flexi hours, no working from home, no 360 degree review - so managers are very powerful, if you conflict the manager then you hold a risk of getting laid off in "silent" layoffs

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be practical, improve employee morale by introducing 360 degree employee review, introduce flexi hours

    I have been working at DISH full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Great fellow technician, independent, 3 day weekends, necessary tools provided, bonus incentives, promotion upon meeting goals.

    Cons

    I have been a Dish tech since 2007 and worked my way up to a level 4 technician. After requesting a transfer to another office I was denied and force to quit to relocate. After arriving in my new city I was rehired at Dish as a level 1 technician. Being several hundreds miles away from home I had no choice but to accept a $6.50 an hour pay cut and start from the bottom again

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Don't forget where you came from and treat people the way you want to be treated. People don't quit jobs people quit management. We are not Salesman we are Technicians

    I have been working at DISH full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    There is plenty of opportunity if one has the right attitude and energy. The corporate culture is improving rapidly. Joe Clayton has brought fresh energy and a positive attitude. Upper Management has clearly heard the concerns and is responding; the new LEAD program is generating a lot of excitement around leadership development. Dish has a lot of very passionate people. I am confident that my boss really wants to see me succeed, both personally and professionally. I know that my input is valued and my opinions are respected.

    Cons

    It would be nice if we had a big enough facility to have a dedicated desk for every agent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Visit the call centers more often. Stay longer than three hours. It's been my experience that how I choose to spend my time gives a pretty accurate representation of my priorities.
