I worked at Disney Parks & Resorts as an intern for more than a year

    Pros

A great place to get entry-level experience.

    Cons

Disney GLBT diversity is just talk. If you're not a fully assimilated gay man, you're on the outside. Disney culture and values are a thin veil used to try to distract from actual corporate practices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You can actually embrace true workplace diversity, and you should. Your culture and values should inform your actions as an employer, not just your guest services.

I have been working at Disney Parks & Resorts part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free entry to the park, pay, will find a position for just about anyone.

    Cons

Extreme favoritism! You can advance without the management team being in love with you but it will take A LOT longer. If they like you, they will look the other way on things. Parking is a disaster as its either a 10min walk or shuttle ride (sometimes longer) on normal days or on days they predict will be busy (but really aren't) they will make you park at further parking lots. I live a 15min drive but need to leave an hour before just to get to work on time. Scheduling is also really annoying because they seem to lose just about everything you turn in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Whether you like someone or not, you need to treat them fairly. I prefer the manager whose willing to follow standard procedures even if it means I don't always get what I want.
