I worked at EY full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - good on resume
    - one of the biggest accounting firms
    - explosure to mulit billion dollar client
    - deep learning curve

    Cons

    - bad management
    - encourage gossip
    - if a management thinks you are bad, you will never succeed in the firm
    - the co-workers love to think they are better than anyone and put people down
    - not working in a co-operative environment
    - too much gossip and minimum support
    - the management encourages to book the actual working hours; however, if the working hours are too much and exceed the budget, management will complain the utilitization rate too low and management loves to use the word "accountabilitly" to blame it on anyone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - treat people with respect!
    - don't abuse your power!

Former Employee - Senior Associate in Singapore (Singapore)

I worked at EY full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice fellow colleagues who can become good friends.

    Cons

Lack of guidance from Partners. They almost always go into projects cold, having spent so little time in the first place with the project and client. Sometimes, I felt that we are not providing the client the real value they pay and expected from us, since the senior managers and Partners are usually not around to guide the projects. They often put people without the relevant experience on jobs and expect to pass them off as experts to the clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure you actually spend time understanding, doing and reviewing the work to ensure quality.
