I worked at GE Oil & Gas as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Huge company. You are able to meet with people from all levels of positions. I was able to meet the plant manager at my manufacturing site.

    Cons

Union environment makes it difficult to implement changes. Management is not on the same page as the labor force.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Complete projects and do not stop half-way to focus on other projects.

I have been working at GE Oil & Gas full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

There are many career paths at GE. The people are tremendous. Integrity is top-of-mind. The job has been demanding but mostly rewarding.

    Cons

Like any large company, you can get lost in the shuffle. Sometimes, the wrong people get promoted, and the right ones get overlooked. The pace and agility is not always fast enough to react to the market.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Though we work for a big company, we should still be able to be nimble at the Tier 3 level. We will follow decisive and fast-paced leadership.
