I have been working at Gameloft

Pros

Majority of employees are amazing, fun people.

Cons

Salaries are below standard, they will tell you upon hiring that they talk raises at 6months and 1year, this is a lie.

Overtime is insane, you will be staying weeknights and weekends unpaid for weeks to months at a time. Projects go way over schedule because the people in HQ have no experience in games. Rampant nepotism in Paris means the people you answer to and who micromanage your every move have no idea what they're doing. Expect projects to take twice as long as the projected date and for half the project time to be overtime.

HQ also has no creative vision and will shoot down any new ideas the team comes up with in favour carbon-copying whatever the competition just came up with. They also continually make changes with no consideration to dependencies or time lines. Expect entire design changes to happen a month before project end, and when you tell them the changes will require more time to implement they will pile on more changes while you're at it.

Management just does whatever Paris asks of them, they have no intention of defending their employees and continually pressure them into unpaid overtime.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give your studios autonomy, it is obvious that Paris is incompetent in every way shape and form. The producers there seem to be under the impression that development teams perform some sort of black magic to create games and that design changes can be made in the blink of an eye. If you still can't let go just fire all your producers, they don't do anything of merit anyways.

    I worked at Gameloft

    Pros

The working environment isn’t that demanding and the people are easy to get along with.

    Cons

The career growth in Gameloft is slow, most specially when your department is just an extension of the main department that is located at the HQ.

    I worked at Gameloft

    Pros

Generally good infrastructures and relevant standardized facilities supporting for working demands.

    Cons

A non-professional management working environment led by lack-of-experience junior employees. Company should carefully review its regulations imposed on those who abuse power for their own advantages over the others.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Comprehensive reviews on management and leadership competence of responsible employees should be throughout and carefully conducted more often by the company itself.
