I have been working at General Motors full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, home office, company car

    Cons

24/7 work hours, pay does not compensate working 12 hour days. Unattainable objectives, high pressure environment, unhappy co workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior leadership never wants to hear the truth about market performance, they don't care how you hit the numbers, just that you do.

I have been working at General Motors full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Very interesting work, top notch technical staff. Milford proving grounds is a one of a kind place. I've worked aerospace and the only similar places are Edwards AFB and Pax River.

    Cons

Promotions not correlated to your work. Responsibility, performance, and skills don't seem to matter. Even when you are working in a position for which the title is above your current title, the company will not promote or recognize you. Poor talent identification process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the best product, period. Anything else will land the company back in bankruptcy.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
