I have been working at Goldman Sachs as an intern for less than a year

Pros

This firm is very well respected in the industry, so your experience with them will be professionalizing. There is a steep learning curve and you are afforded a lot of responsibility very early on, but as a result you learn concrete and marketable skills.

Cons

The firm culture engenders a very cut-throat competitive environment, at least among junior employees. It is a strenuous work schedule due to late nights and early morinings.

I worked at Goldman Sachs full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Very good opportunities for new graduates to work on great projects. Lots to learn & good exposure to senior executives. Very smart group of team mates across the board. Lots of great internal resources for employee ongoing learning.

    Cons

Long hours & slow process of advancement. Too many people & can be a bit crowded at times at various levels. Very inward culture. Overly bureaucratic which inhibits competitive nature & ability to adapt to change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More efficiency, less meetings & emails. Work closer with your industry peers.
