I worked at Harris full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

it has project hop program for you to attend. Usually good rotation program for new grads. Nice campus in NY, MD, FL, MA, CA.

Cons

compensation is not competitive. And too much overtime if projects delayed. Corp marketing department is not strong.

    I have been working at Harris full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Although things have been in a relatively constant state of transition for the company, the overall work experience that this organization offers is tremendous. Great opportunities to participate and gain valuable experience. Leadership gives employees the opportunity to take on meaningful and critical responsibilities regardless of title, position or tenure. Fantastic place for learning experiences and resume builders.

    Cons

    Work/life balance can be challenging because there is so much to be done and people are often stretched thin, but positive is that days go by quickly in this fast paced environment. Never watching the clock tick like in some organizations. Things seems to be evening out with the start of the new year and workloads don’t seem to be as overwhelming, although still extremely busy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take a step back when making decisions. Make sure you think about how changes affect all members of organization, including non “satellite” focused groups.

    I have been working at Harris full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    The company and leadership team has listened to critical feedback from both customers and employees and has recently implemented some major organizational changes for the better. These changes are placing much more emphasis on customer service and delivery. Both clients and employees seem energized by the new structure and focus on customer service. Most employees are still very passionate about the business despite a tough couple of post-acquistion years.

    Cons

    The company is coming out of a two year period of integration following a series of merger and acquisition activities by its parent company Harris corporation. This caused some strain on both morale and customer satisfaction, but the management team has recognized it and taken action.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep listening to and acting on feedback from customers. The company historically had a reputation for premier customer service. The new changes show great promise for returning Harris CapRock to its position as the industry leader not just in size but quality of service as well.
