I worked at Hertz full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Free company car and gas. Pension and retirement plan are okay.

    Cons

No work / life balance. Always have to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Not good for working parents. No flexibility. No respect for longstanding employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please give your longstanding employees a little bit more respect and credit.

I worked at Hertz as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The day to day had lots of sale opportunity. The only thing is they sell this as a managerial role, and just like everything else you do not have anything to do with management. You sell insurance.

    Cons

You are forced to sell insurance to people that can not afford it. They max you out at 24 hours a week but the work week starts on Friday so you always get screwed over. The work was so mundane and boring. You are their whipping post for a few months.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tell the truth about what your interns will be doing. Your business model is so outdated and the only way that locations can make any money is to con people into things they don't need and can't afford.
