I have been working at Hertz full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

After three years of working with this organization I could not be happier. Those who work hard are rewarded with promotions and upward movement with in the organization. There is a lot of forward momentum in expanding, growing and bringing on new ideas to market the company which only leads to new opportunities to grow within the organization.

Cons

At times it does run into a bit of longer hours, but again the hardwork is rewarded.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    -good discount on cars
    -weekly paychecks

    Cons

-big paychecks are because you will be doing so much overtime (nights, weekends AND holidays) you no longer have a life, way too much mandatory overtime, you'll be lucky if you get a day off every 2-3 weeks
-management really doesn't care about employees
-communication between management and employees is terrible
-training was not long enough or thorough enough, management had senior employees train new hires, then expected new hires to turn around and immediately train other new hires in same week
-employees spend too much time gossiping and sabotaging each other and not enough time doing their jobs
-turnover is high and everything is seniority based, but with the turnover it takes YEARS to achieve seniority where you won't be doing AT LEAST 60 hours a week. (I generally do around 75)
-the sales manager is in everyones business and hinders other managers abilities to do their jobs properly, also constantly changing sales strategies but not communicating it to all staff, then reprimanding staff for not doing something when it was never communicated they should do it
-Pretty much impossible to maintain relationships or go to school with this job since you will be working there 12+ hours a day 7 days a week

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat and train your employees better so they don't quit, leaving others to get mandatories until they burn out and quit. Get a new sales manager who actually helps employees instead of just promising to help and then never following through.

I worked at Hertz full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good people to work with, bonus is good if you get one.
Overtime is 1.5, get plenty because not enough staff.

    Cons

Hourly pay is laughable, expect you to run a branch on your own at $10/hr. Promise you bonus's but never follow through - then blame you as the reason you didn't get one.
Not enough staff, constantly understaffed - expected to run a branch with 1 or 2 people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look closely when promoting area managers, some are good, but some couldn't complete a contract if their life depended on it. Area managers should be willing to help their employees not just tell them to "sell through it" -- give some advice, show them how!
