I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Advantages of a large company such as good benefits and enough resources to support the work. Good policy allowing for moving to another position within the company.

Cons

Too much bureaucracy. Not enough communication. Too much emphasis on profitability and growth. Too much time spent tracking time. Salary freezes and downsizing when things aren't going well.

    Pros

    Broad technology portfolio with access to incredible talent and raw material. Great opportunities to lead the move to the next generation of cloud computing with a focus on security, big data and mobility.

    Cons

    Poor support of acquired and emerging BUs. HP has not built a platform for integrating acquired companies in the software area. All of the systems and processes are still optimized for hardware.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Create a greater sense of urgency. Leverage the executive talent from acquired companies.
