I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

The company is very supportive of working at home. This means one can work almost anywhere in the country and that is quite helpful.

Cons

The pay raises were few and far between over the course of the last seven years. This made working for HP a bit less salary competitive.

    lots of flexibility, able to work independently

    company going through a tough transition. very difficult environment to work in.

    Pros

    . Some very good people (25%)
    . Work / Life balance better than average
    . Lots of experience within its walls

    Cons

    . Lots of useless people (75%)
    . Treated like idiots/drones by most management
    . No market-effective company strategy
    . Starting pay is your pay for life
    . Senior management only cares about themselves and/or are psychotic
    . Innovation effectively discouraged in poduct and in methodologies
    . Little to no care for the customer

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    . 360 degree analysis of senior management to identify and close significant "leadership" gaps
    . Fix you services business (TS & ES)
    . Shed Printing and Imaging Group (PIG)
    . Develop and IMPLEMENT a viable cloud strategy and
    . Sell the "new" HP to Oracle
