A solid and valuable company to work for.

Operations Analyst (Former Employee)
Christiana, DE (US)

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time for more than a year

Pros-Training was very organized and thorough
-Had great extracurricular programs for networking and community involvement
-Competitive pay and benefits
-Lots of room for lateral movement into other areas of the company
-Overall a great company to have had on my resume to get to that next step in my career.

Cons-Because company is so big, getting a good manager is hit or miss, much like going to a large university, some will be awesome, some not so much.
-Office environment is very corporate and traditional, bordering on impersonal and lacking human element, though if you're in banking one should expect this anyway.
-New and innovative ideas will likely go unnoticed as the company is pretty set in its ways.

Advice to Senior ManagementJust because you're in banking doesn't mean your offices need to be so darn boring looking! I would have loved to have seen a more modern, innovative, social, and open work set up in the offices as opposed to the outdated land of gray cubicles and 80's era artwork.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Tough job; typical sales job w/ high turnover; not worth it for college grads

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at J.P. Morgan

Pros: Salary is decent considering qualifications Ability to grow in company if you can perform to their expectations So many different avenues of growth,… Cons: Typical sales job cons: Managers will say ANYTHING to get you to "perform" better. Career opportunities are zero if you do not hit the numbers… Advice to Senior Management: Be more reasonable when it comes to performance. Change… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
