I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

If you have a high drive to work, you will move up quickly, and if you network effectively, you can easily become one of the more well known employees in the site

Cons

Sometimes it seems as though management practice extreme favoritism. Lots of work goes without recognition.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to employees doing work in roles temporarily, and imagine how they feel when they end up training someone to replace them when they have to go back to their original (lower) role

    I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Managers who are clueless. a salary that is a draw. Paid less on mutual funds and insurance proucdcs than at comparable firms. They push managed money but what they don't tell you is that you get paid 3 months later and it does not count towards the grid or production. A performance rating systems that measures performance of an FA with a $200MM branch with an FA with a $60MM branch as the same. They expect the same resut from the two.

    Cons

    The JP Morgan name still has mileage

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire people who know what they are doing, not accidental mangers, pay people more. The salary should be a salary. Measure performance based on the branches the FA are assigned. Account assignment should be done by someone neutral. The market managers feed those they favor.

    Pros

    Good management usage of aquiring company resources
    Communication was good at the working team levle - informed of plans, challenges and roadblocks
    Working cross multiple locations and time zones is a strength

    Cons

    Senior management not as effective in leveraging resources and treat people sometimes as number - not focused on the people/relationships and very bottom line / profit first oriented

    Some areas were not as effective in leveraging skills and knowledge of aquiring company

    Take the time to evaluate skills from aquiring company - many would be beneficial to your vision
