if you can work 10-12 hours everyday on regular basis - you can grow easily. Forget work-life balance!!

(Current Employee)

ProsSome really smart people to work with. If you work really hard and can prove yourself - you will be rewarded very well. But you need to be on "core" projects - that matters most to your group.

ConsFor working mothers, hard place to grow and keep balance between work-family. Extra hours put in close to any sort of release ( 60 hours/week ) is normal / expected but not rewarded. Amibition + hardwork is not enough - you need to be aggressive as well.

Mixed - depends on the group

I have been working at Microsoft

Pros: I had one group that was pretty good with organization and process, so that folks didn't feel too overwhelmed, and knew what their priorities should… Cons: Another group was terrible - there was no coordination between the different teams, and too many "high priorities " at once. It was not clear… Advice to Senior Management: Try for greater consistency between the teams. There's a push to have employees "manage their own careers" which is… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More

Pros: lots of new stuff almost daily Cons: processes are killing it and losing momentum More
