    I have been working at News America Marketing part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good work atmosphere. Those up the chain of command can do the exact work that Field Services personnel can do. Work is quite interesting and rarely routine. Work schedules are flexible and management works to accommodate work with personal time of Field Services personnel.

    Cons

    Poor management from the very top! $650 million dollars in litigation losses/payouts in last 7 years alone and in litigation again. Work dynamics are changing more and more...a lot of flip-flopping on rules, regulations, in-store restrictions. Work nomenclature changes at the whim of someone..causing a lot of confusion....It seems to be change for the sake of change. Tremendous amount of wastage in the advertising shipping system (if there is a system) Some of the large contractors to News America such as Angstrom Graphics are extremely inefficient and their unending mistakes cost New America a millions of dollars more per year than is necessary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Advise advertising partners to News America, such as Angstrom Graphics and others to shape up or News America should find replacements. There are many high-powered graphic arts companies with the where-with-all to meet the demands of News America in a timely fashion within costs kept within contractual parameters .
