I have been working at Panera Bread part-time (more than an year)

Pros

There are a lot of nice workers here. You get 50% off on your break and they are pretty flexible with availabilities.

Cons

Lately they are understaffed. The managers can be rude .

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

flexible 45 hour work week, free meals, tremendous growth opportunity.

    Cons

Misleading hiring terms and Extreme favoritism on the store and area level. Basically, if your not in the favor of upper management or around when they are to see you, it doesn't help you no matter how hard you've worked for them. They single out kiss ass employees for promotions regardless of their ability or work ethic. which is pretty pathetic. My self and other former employees were promised rapid advancement and then left for dead after a short time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please review the reason behind high turn over on the associate and store manager level.
Panera bread has many tools available to help assist district managers and general manager in people development , but its put to the way side. Look at your district managers and their hiring and retention track records. Take the warm survey a little more seriously.

I worked at Panera Bread part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Learn how a well oiled machine of an operation works - especially during peak mealtimes.

    Cons

You are a disposable stooge. Some employees that have worked for over 9 years still are making less than $9 an hour. Good for college students looking for a little extra income with flexible hours. The management leans pretty heavily from the top down and creates unnecessary stress.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The "everyday oasis" needs to start with you! Check your stress at the door before you enter.
