I worked at Paychex full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Paychex provides you with everything that you need to become successful in a sales orginization. cell phone, client lists, and support.

Cons

As an HR solutions representative the ramp up time may take a while since you will be learing all of the high level and details aspects of HR. Once you get familiar with the product and value proposition, your success should be imiminent. Just work hard and check your ego at the door.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pair up your new employees with your top level sales representatives if you want to shorten the ramp up time. The problem is how do you incentivise your rockstars to do so? I can garauntee that if you do a business analysis by using the strategy that it will result in great profits for the orginization.

I worked at Paychex full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Paychex is a very stable company. As long as you are productive you do not have to worry about losing your job due to outside variables.

The benefit package is a plus. Medical, vision, dental, 401k, FSA and a slew of other employee friendly benefits are available.

    Corporate leadership and values.

    Cons

True job promotion is limited. SLOW steady progression is the path. Many lower-level positions are created to encourage "job promotion", but it is basically a false promotion that is used to keep the masses chasing the carrot.

The wages are low. Your performance is definitely not tied to your annual review or raise percentage. You can provide 110% while someone else provides 60% and your raise will be with .25 cents of each other. This is an area that definitely requires improvement.

Local leadership/values are not consistent with National/Corporate leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To receive a true assessment of how local offices are operated/run set up shell companies in each office. Run "designed scenarios" for each company to assess the knowledge of Sales, Operations, Distribution. Crearte scenarious where front line personnel, supervisors, branch managers are DIRECTLY interacted with and then submit a grade to that office. You may then offer them a chance to improve on areas where they are lacking.
