I worked at Publix part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Set Breaks 30 mins to hour and 15 mins
    Easy Job
Change your availability to whatever you want but could effect your hours

    Cons

Changing policies of coupons makes customers upset and hard on the cashier
Lazy co workers, con if you're not lazy but if you are then you can easily get away with being lazy
People in higher positions treat people below like they are nothing
    No discounts
They BS you on evaluations because they don't want to give out a raise if your pay is higher than most cashiers but someone who has horrible job performance will get a raise because they make less than you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more respect to the people who actually work hard instead of the ones who are your friends

  2.

Employees are not as valued as they were years ago and management doesn't seem to care anymore.

    I worked at Publix

    Pros

Benefits, close to home, very nice co-workers, paid weekly

    Cons

Often left to fend for yourself even if you've only been there for 1 day on the job. Orientation was fantasy, the reality is that you will rarely have time to use bathroom if at all through entire shift, often "forget" or don't care if employees have had scheduled, required breaks and you will work past your scheduled time most of the week. I can count on one hand how many times I actually got off when I was scheduled to leave. Ok if you don't have a life but, if you have family or children to pick-up it can be very problematic with child care.
