My experience was good for the most part but mostly because I had great clients and co-workers.

    Pros

Get a lot of PTO and recognized holidays. Pays well, good benefits. It's a growing company so there are lots of opportunities to move around within the company.

    Cons

Corporate does not care about the clients. They try to screw them over for all they're worth and they don't care because they never come in contact with them directly. As a GM you are the barer of bad news. Corporate makes you aim for 18% increases every year (or more frequently for shorter terms). They also sneak things into the fine print of contracts and are not forthright. You have to constantly battle corporate in order to feel like you are doing the right thing and not misleading the client/prospect. They nickel and dime like crazy. Also, the fine print in the employment contract states that when you quit you forfeit your last quarterly bonus even if you have worked well into the following quarter and exceeded your target!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CARE about your clients. They are fueling your company. Just because you get away with screwing them over for more $$ sometimes doesn't mean it will work forever. Word will get out. If you simply try to be genuine and forthright and provide a good honest service you won't have to trick people into buying it.

I have been working at Regus full-time

    Pros

It is a large company so they have methods and standards for everything. If you have a problem to solve there is always people (managers, sales, operations, IT etc) to help. You get to be in a busy work environment interacting with many business types, lawyers, start-ups, IT, foreign companies- It is an entertaining mix.

    Cons

There is not a lot of room for advancement if you do not want to go into sales. Also such a large corporate structure means there are a lot of rules. A major con:A single person can not afford their own apartment on this salary in a 45 min driving radius. They have not given significant raises in the past years ( for example: $0.11 cents/hr )

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For the job we do at the front desk, everything from reception, dealing with clients, billing, IT support- we should get much better compensation. Tech Start-ups in this area offer $10/hr more. If they could just raise their pay structure and pay employees a living wage they would be able to keep the good ones and attract better talent.
