Former Employee - District Manager in Plano, TX (US)

I worked at Rent-A-Center full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Great pay, Good Benefits, stock options for District Managers and above, lots of opportunity for advancement if your willing too move.

Cons

Long hours, 5 1/2 day work week for District Managers and above.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the 5 1/2 day work week, require DM's and above to work more during the week, 7am to 6pm and they would happily do that then work even an hour on Saturdays. Work/Life balance.

    I worked at Rent-A-Center full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Employee Purchase program, nothing else

    Cons

No life, intimidation by higher ups, unrealistic expectations, did I mention no life? Kiss your family and your health good bye, get ready to deal with the arm pit of society.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn what professionalism really is, treat people the way you want to be treated.

I have been working at Rent-A-Center full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    *Decent pay check every week
    * Good Benefits

    Cons

    * For what you do the pay isn't good. You will work anywhere from 50-60 hours a week making 9-11 dollars an hour. While all the big bosses get triple digit raises

    * If, your numbers aren't good credit wise expect for your job to be threatened constanly. You will always catch hell when the store isn't doing good. But when you are doing good also expect your DM to be mad about something.

    * Your job is never. Always have a plan B

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase the pay of the store employees. You guys get to see your family. We don't, we work hard so you can. More money and less hour's.
